ich denke mal weezy hatte erstmal diesen "let it rock" track veröffentlicht um die resonanz abzuwarten. naja, da der offensichtlich gut angekommen ist wirds davon wohl in zukunft immer mehr geben.

aber mal ehrlich, irgendwie kam der birman jr nicht auf das recht flotte instrumental klar, hat sich irgendwie seltsam angehört.

wenn er das so als nebenprojekt unter nem anderen titel veröffentlich OK. und dann danach wieder zur carter reieh geht...naja...
aber würde ja thematisch null passen the carter 4 jetzt als rockiges album zu verpacken. naja WAYNE intressierts^^

Lil Wayne is giving up being an MC. He said it.
"I ain't rapping no more," Weezy declared during a light moment in the studio with Jim Jones recently. "I'm singing ... I'm about to get some dance moves. I gonna get Chris [Brown] to teach me some sh--."
Weezy revealed cartwheels as some of choreography.
"Nah," he said seconds later with a grin. "I'm f---in' with y'all. I'm keeping it coming," he said about his rap career.
When you love to make hip-hop as much as the Fireman does, there's no way you can give up the mic at just 26 years old. It obviously doesn't mean being afraid to expand, though — the headliner of the current "I Am Music" tour touches on a myriad of genres in his music, so why are people so are surprised when talk of a Wayne rock album came up last week? Didn't we tell you in October that he was doing some rock music?
"Lil Wayne, don't bet against him right now!" Fat Joe told us in late 2008. "Don't bet against this guy ever right now. He calls me in the middle of the night, 'Come to the studio.' I get there, this n---a pressed play, and everything he played was super-duper phenomenal, #1 [smash]. He's singing, 'So I went to get her in my spaceship.' Craziest thing you ever heard in your life. They compared him a lot to Jay-Z, and you could see where he was influenced. But after this next album — I'm not saying he's the best rapper of all time, [but] you can't compare him to any rapper in the world, because no rapper has done what he's about to do. That's crazy! He's a rock star, man. Hit mania!"
Wayne himself spoke on it to us during the BET Awards in November. "People see the guitars and they wanna call it rock and roll. I plug up the bass, I plug up the electric, I plug up the acoustic — it's not really rock and roll, its just great music I'm doing right now."

Lil Wayne's New Single, 'Prom Queen,' Leaks

Song, from Wayne's rock-oriented Rebirth LP, has slipped onto the Internet.

The hip-hop community probably hasn't had this big of a reference to a prom queen since Pookie in "New Jack City" mocked his drug-fiend girlfriend while they sat around and reminisced in that filthy project stairwell. Lil Wayne's new single has leaked early.

Weezy's "Prom Queen," the lead cut off of his rock LP Rebirth (due April 7), wasn't supposed to come out until Tuesday. However, the track has hit online and radio. True to his and his camp's description, the record is rock and roll to the core: big guitars, rebellious drums and the New Orleans fireman singing instead of rapping.

"I loved her fancy underwear, I sit behind her every year," Weezy sings (with some Auto-Tune aid). "Waiting for the chance to get to tell her I'm the one she should be with."

Wayne — who will perform at the Grammy Awards on February 8 — goes on to say that he would have given the girl in question the whole wide world if she would have hooked up with them. But, as we've learned in many rock tunes, the hero doesn't always get the dame: This popular beauty spurned Wayne. In fact, she flat-out dissed him, laughing at his advances to run with guys she thought were cooler. But Weezy comes out on top, according to the song's chorus.

"She had it all figured out/ She left me with a broken heart," he croons with indignation. "F---ed around and turned me down/ 'Cause she didn't think I could play the part/ Now the prom queen, the prom queen is crying, sitting outside of my door/ You never know how everything could turn around."

Wayne, Keyshia Cole, T-Pain, Gym Class Heroes and Gorilla Zoe have two more shows left for their I Am Music Tour. The January 27 show will be streamed live on MySpace.com Tuesday, according to Weezy's rep.



Also, das Rock album heißt rebirth, carter 4 wird dann wieder ein rap-album... vielleiccht hat er deinen comment gelesen cooky
